Core modules

Second Language Teaching Methodology

This module will give you a strong grounding in classroom methodology and course design. You will create your own teaching and learning materials.

Second Language Learning

The Second Language Learning module will introduce you to research in language learning and teaching. You will learn about theory and evidence in second language learning.

Researching Methods in Education

This module will introduce you to practitioner research, with seminars focussing on TESOL research.

Dissertation (MSc only)

You will investigate a TESOL topic of your choice. With the help of your supervisor, you will design your own research project, and write a dissertation.

Sperimenterai una vasta gamma di stili di insegnamento e apprendimento, tra cui lezioni frontali, discussioni di gruppo, dimostrazioni pratiche, microinsegnamento, presentazioni individuali e di gruppo, osservazioni scolastiche, diari e progetti di gruppo.

I moduli vengono generalmente valutati con compiti scritti di 4.000 parole. Esplorerai un argomento a tua scelta, rivedendo la letteratura pertinente o eseguendo un progetto di ricerca su piccola scala. Per alcuni moduli, progetterai e valuterai curriculum o materiali didattici.

I nostri laureati in genere trovano lavoro come insegnanti di lingua inglese nelle scuole e nelle università di paesi di tutto il mondo. Alcuni proseguono conseguendo un dottorato di ricerca o altre qualifiche di ricerca.
