Il programma MFA in regia teatrale è il primo programma master del suo genere interamente basato sulla pratica in Irlanda. È stato introdotto dopo un'ampia consultazione con la comunità teatrale irlandese ed è una risposta diretta alle esigenze dichiarate dell'industria e degli artisti emergenti di talento.

Il programma Stage Design è appositamente progettato per consentire agli studenti di specializzarsi in un'area della scenografia (scenografia, costumi o lighting design) o di combinare le discipline come desiderato (ad esempio, scenografia e costumi o scenografia e lighting design). Oltre alle lezioni principali e ai workshop, le lezioni individuali e di gruppo tenute dal responsabile del design di The Lir saranno una caratteristica fondamentale della formazione.

Il panorama teatrale viene costantemente modellato da produttori teatrali che presentano opere originali o rivisitano i classici. Fondamentali per questo processo sono nuovi scritti e adattamenti. Il Master in Belle Arti in Drammaturgia presso la Lir Academy offre a ogni studente l'opportunità di sviluppare e affinare le proprie abilità di scrittura uniche in modo che ogni opera scritta sia la migliore possibile.

Il programma di questo Master offre due specializzazioni: una in Musica popolare, culture del suono e dei media e un'altra in studi di teatro, cultura e media. Ogni specializzazione comprende pratiche sia emergenti che storicamente consolidate nella musica, nel teatro e nelle arti dello spettacolo.

L'unico corso del suo genere al mondo, gli studenti studiano tutto, dalla storia di Shakespeare nella società, alla critica letteraria e alle pratiche teatrali; prima di mettere in pratica le loro conoscenze attraverso un'opera teatrale di nuova concezione in risposta all'opera di Shakespeare. Questo programma creativo e ambizioso è ideale per aspiranti accademici, attori, scrittori, registi, amministratori d'arte, nonché per chiunque abbia un vivo interesse per Shakespeare. Gli studenti hanno l'opportunità di studiare la vita e l'opera di Shakespeare e combinarle con l'emozione di produrre nuove opere creative. Riunisce interessi accademici, teatrali e civici in Shakespeare per incoraggiare e sfidare gli studenti a pensare a nuovi approcci a Shakespeare nel mondo moderno.

Theatre for Young Audiences is a practical training program for performers and makers from a range of disciplines, that explores approaches to making work for, by, and with children and young people. Underpinning the course is the ambition to define Theatre for Young Audiences as a cutting-edge arts practice, outside (or perhaps alongside) the Applied Theatre framing that so often dominates this area of training, encouraging co-creative processes that balance the sensibilities of the adult artist and the creative voice of children and young people.

The first and only MA of its kind to focus on queer performance, this course offers broad training in a range of queer performance practices, delivered by renowned queer artists, theatre-makers, academics, and researchers. Fiercely socially engaged, political, experimental, and interdisciplinary, the course provides an in-depth, comprehensive examination of queer performance practice, studying its themes, methodologies, and untapped possibilities.

This course is the only postgraduate program in the world that takes candidates through a course of study that culminates in their receiving Designated Linklater Teacher status along with the MFA degree. A deep dive into the Linklater Voice method is the foundation of the MFA. The program was designed in close collaboration with Ms. Linklater and reflects her ideas of what a twenty-first-century postgraduate course for actor-teachers should look like. It is, in part, a voice-centred actor-training, rooted in Linklater’s approach to voice as fundamental to a whole system.

International Theatre Practice and Performance (ITPP) offers training for multi-disciplinary practitioners, with elements of acting, directing, writing, ensemble training, and contemporary performance. Multidisciplinary training with elements of acting, directing, writing, and collaborative ensemble practices. This program, designed specifically for US-based students, is delivered in partnership with the National Theater Institute (NTI) in Connecticut.

Arthaus. Berlin International School offers the international performing arts community full-time and part-time training programs on the postgraduate level in the field of devised theatre and performance. Practitioners with a background in theatre, performance, dance, circus arts, visual arts, design, architecture, directing, writing, or choreographing, can enroll in one of our MA or MFA degree programs or complete the training with a professional development certificate.

This advanced and rigorous MA/ MFA Contemporary Directing Practice program offers an experiential two-year course, where students will develop their vocabulary and find their own voice and vision as a director while acquiring and honing a diverse variety of skills, techniques, tools, and devices.

Developed and led by renowned Actor Musician Jeremy Harrison, this vocational program builds on and extends the work developed on the College’s ground-breaking BA (Hons) Actor Musicianship program, drawing on our strong links to theatre-makers, directors, choreographers, writers, musical directors and performers involved in the development of this innovative area of theatre practice.

The MA/MFA Actor/Performer Training is a practice-based program for those seeking intensive advanced training as actors and performers alongside rigorous academic study and performance research. The program focuses specifically on actor/performer training, theatre creation, performative writing, informed critical reflection, and practice research.
