Master in Contemporary Art Markets

NABA - Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milano

The Master in Contemporary Art Markets is an intensive study path that will give you the artistic vocabulary and expertise to interpret the dynamics and economics of today’s art market.

You’ll have the opportunity to network with established industry professionals and to collaborate with internationally acclaimed art galleries, auction houses, art fairs, institutions, collections, and art centers.

The educational path comprises two cycles. The first cycle is dedicated to theoretical lectures and thematic workshops on the humanistic, economic, and legal aspects of the art market. The humanistic theme addresses modern and contemporary art languages, the history of private and public collections, and valuing historic and contemporary works of art. The economic and legal theme focuses on the operational structures and economic processes of the art market, while analyzing managerial, technical, and administrative elements. This first phase also includes class visits to galleries, fairs, foundations, and museums.

During the second cycle, you’ll complete your internship, attend a series of conferences held by professionals, and prepare your final project. Your internship is a valuable opportunity to put your knowledge to practical use and gain direct insight into various dimensions of the art market. You’ll also have the chance to participate in an exciting three-day field trip to Art Basel in Switzerland.

The Master in Contemporary Art Markets program is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) as an Academic Master’s degree (60 CFs).
